Bonded Seal Description
MDS Bonded Seals are sealing rings consist of a metal outside ring and an inner ring of rubber elastomer that acts as a gasket to provide a sealing action. This same basic concept can also be used to produce customized shapes for specific applications in any of the combinations of rubber to metal or plastic bonding. In comparison with metal rings, bonded seals offer the following advantages:
- Improved sealing.
- Improved pressure resistance.
Bonded seals are suitable for sealing purposes in the same way as copper rings. In other words, metal is tightening against metal, and the gaps are minimizing. This compresses the inner rubber ring, forming a seal. The metal ring ensures that the rubber ring is subjected to well-defined compression and prevents it from being extruded through the gap.
Selection
Bonded Seal comes in various sizes. Before choosing the Bonded Seal, take the fluid volume, pressure, and other system properties into consideration.
