ORFS Connections Description

ORFS Connections that stand for the O-ring face seal connections are part of the range of fluid connectors meeting or exceeding the strict requirements of SAE J1453 and ISO 8434-3. They eliminates leakage problem commonly seen in hydraulic systems experiencing higher operating pressures and more severe mechanical shocks. Moreover, Under over-tightening, any ­fitting can allow leakage. Metal fittings are more susceptible to leakage because they must tighten to a higher and narrower torque range. Therefore thus makes it easier to strip threads or crack or distort ­fitting components, which prevents proper sealing. As the name implies for its key feature, the ORFS fitting utilizes an O-ring that provides a more reliable seal than traditional metal-to-metal tube fitting styles. Sealing takes place by compressing the O-ring onto the flat face of the female connector.

   Installation

   1. Inspect for possible contamination as well as damage from shipping or handling. Confirm face seal O-ring is properly installed.
   2. Lubricate the threads and the O-ring with your systems hydraulic fluid or a light lubricant.
   3. Align mating face seal flange against O-ring and ­tighten face seal flange nut manually.
   4. Finally, torque Flange nut.
